After four days without rain it was finally dry enough for me to feed the cows some range cubes. They ran like the pasture was on fire when they realized I was pouring food into the troughs. The only downside is now they are going to be expecting food every morning.

What is this cube thing?
Scott,You may now be my favorite blog! I love the pictures and tid bits. Now seriously, what is this cube thing?
I think it's the bales of hay you're seeing in the back. They are inside metal rings so the cows don't tromp it and soil it while they are eating it.
Or if it's the food pellets in the trough, that is called range cubes. It is made of corn and other grains. Since the cows are always either pregnant or nursing we supplement their diet of hay with other things.
